Worship: It Is Well by Kristene Dimarxco, Bethel Music
"It Is Well"
Grander earth has quaked before
Moved by the sound of His voice
Seas that are shaken and stirred
Can be calmed and broken for my regard
Through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
Through it all, through it all
It is well
Through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
It is well with me
Far be it from me to not believe
Even when my eyes can't see
And this mountain that's in front of me
Will be thrown into the midst of the sea
Through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
Through it all, through it all
It is well
So let go my soul and trust in Him
The waves and wind still know His name
It is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well it is well with my soul
Moved by the sound of His voice
Seas that are shaken and stirred
Can be calmed and broken for my regard
Through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
Through it all, through it all
It is well
Through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
It is well with me
Far be it from me to not believe
Even when my eyes can't see
And this mountain that's in front of me
Will be thrown into the midst of the sea
Through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You
Through it all, through it all
It is well
So let go my soul and trust in Him
The waves and wind still know His name
It is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well with my soul
It is well it is well with my soul
Through it all, through it all
My eyes are on You Lord
Through it all, through it all
It is well with me.
My eyes are on You Lord
Through it all, through it all
It is well with me.
Witness:
I read my journal entry from November 23. I was grateful and blessed because I had spoken then of God’s unchangeableness or immutability and it went well with the worship and witness of yesterday. Today, as I awoke, I heard the song It is Well by Bethel Music. It is the true “let it go” song. The Disney version, as popular as it was or is, pales in comparison. In fact, when you listen to the words, it is really a sad, self-centered song, for she is basically saying she is cutting herself off from everyone else, to heck with them. “It is Well” by Bethel is a song of God’s unchangeable faithfulness in times of trouble. Thus Kristene can tell her soul to “Let [it] go”. Let go of doubt and worry and trust in Him who is the same yesterday, today and forever (Heb. 13:8).
Let this be our theme song for this year and for life.
WORD:
|
Ps 24:1-6
24 The earth is the LORD 's, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it;
2 for he founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the waters
.
3 Who may ascend the hill of the LORD?
Who may stand in his holy place?
4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to an idol
or swear by what is false.
5 He will receive blessing from the LORD
and vindication from God his Savior.
6 Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek your face, O God of Jacob.b

Ps 24:1-6
The King of Glory
A Psalm of David.
24  The earth is the LORD's and the fullness thereof,
the world and those who dwell therein,
2 for he has founded it upon the seas
and established it upon the rivers.
3  Who shall ascend the hill of the LORD?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
4  He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
who does not lift up his soul to what is false
and does not swear deceitfully.
5 He will receive blessing from the LORD
and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek the face of the God of Jacob.

Time is short again. We have heard the call to purity when we come into God’s presence, both from a positive aspect (clean hands, pure heart) and a negative aspect (eschews all that is vanity and all lying or deceitfulness). What follows is a promise for those who answer the call. Again, it is framed in a positive and negative way (I am using these terms loosely and figuratively and not in their primary function). God promises blessing and vindication.
