Well, you can see my political leanings at the time I wrote this. Now he is president and all I can do is pray for him. That he will keep his promises and that he will tone down his rhetoric and keep to the business of being the president. As Christians, we are to honor the office of the presidency and pray for all our leaders, even those we oppose for their unrighteous stands on abortion and the like. However, we do not look to the government for our answers but to God through His inspired scriptures - the Bible. I pray that he will succeed in implementing laws for our safety as a country and bring back jobs to this country. I pray that he will succeed in protecting then rights of Christians in America and abroad. I pray that the life of the innocent children that are sacrificed on the altar of inconvenience and expediency through abortion will cease. But above all this, I pray that we as Christians will lift up our God and Father through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and worship and serve Him only whether these things are achieved or not.

Worship: To You O Lord I Lift Up My Soul by Graham Kendrick
Published on Apr 28, 2015
This version of To You O Lord is taken from The Very Best of Graham Kendrick and features worship leader and songwriter Matt Redman. Originally recorded in 1997 for an EP, To You, O Lord was later re-recorded in 2001 with Matt Redman by Andy Piercy for the album What Grace.
To You O Lord I lift up my soul
In you, I trust O my God
Do not let me be put to shame
To You O Lord I lift up my soul
In you, I trust O my God
Do not let me be put to shame
Nor let my enemies triumph over me
Show me your ways and teach me your paths
Guide me in truth lead me on
For you're my God, you are my Saviour
My hope is in you each moment of the day
Remember Lord your mercy and love
That ever flow from of old
Remember not the sins of my youth
Or my rebellious ways
According to your love remember me
According to your love
For you are good O Lord
Guide me in truth lead me on
For you're my God, you are my Saviour
My hope is in you each moment of the day
Remember Lord your mercy and love
That ever flow from of old
Remember not the sins of my youth
Or my rebellious ways
According to your love remember me
According to your love
For you are good O Lord
No one whose hope is in you
Will ever be put to shame
That's why my eyes are on you Oh Lord
Surround me, defend me
Oh how I need you
To you, I lift up my soul
To you, I lift up my soul (2X)
Will ever be put to shame
That's why my eyes are on you Oh Lord
Surround me, defend me
Oh how I need you
To you, I lift up my soul
To you, I lift up my soul (2X)
To you, I lift up my soul  (4X)

Witness:
Another weekend has come. No time for rest. This is catch up time for me. I do the laundry and vacuum the rug and organize the house and do yard work, though often I only get the first two completed to my satisfaction. There is a whole garage out there to straighten up and my Christmas tree still is up. I have taken some of the ornaments off, but plan to tackle the rest this weekend. Working the graveyard shift makes it difficult to get things done. I sleep when I come home from work then get up, shower & Shave and get dinner ready. I watch a little news so I can be depressed by the political rancor and the equal willful ignorance of many who want a financially rich but spiritually bankrupt person to be their next president. The only thing I can figure is that people are tired of the false promises and failures of the present leaders so they are desperate, and that is clouding their thinking. They are willing to look past the insults, belittling, bullying, profanity and lies in order to bring a change to Washington as well as fortify their quickly emptying wallet or purse. This includes many people who profess their allegiance to Jesus as their Savior. Suddenly they drop their principles for pragmatism. They would rather trust in Trump than in the One who is the Truth.

NASU |
Psalm 25 is an appropriate psalm to read and meditate on in light of what I said above. To whom do we lift our soul to? To whom we place our trust? To whom do we go for deliverance? To whom do we seek our guidance from?
Let us look at the first question – “To whom do we lift our soul?”
This is answered straight out of the chute (US idiom for immediately). The answer is the LORD of course. The name of the self-existent One – the God of the covenant (a term that is an important factor later in this psalm). The question that arises from this answer is – “What does it mean to lift up one’s soul?”
We saw this phrase used in the previous psalm. In Psalm 24:4 he uses the phrase, but in a negative way. There it speaks of not lifting the soul to an idol or to that which is false. Here he uses it in a positive sense. He lifts his soul to God. From the context, we can see that one thing it means is “trust”, because of what follows immediately after he declares this. In the first part of verse 2, he declares “I trust in You, my God” (see also Psalm 143:8). From psalm 24:4 we learn that it has something also to do with worship and purity. In Ezekiel 24:25 a form of the same word for “lift up” is used to refer to the desire of the heart. The TWOT says:
(from, In the class of figurative usages is the interesting Ezek 24:25 which uses a nominal verb, "the uplifting of their soul, " to mean "their heart's desire, " i.e. that to which they are lifting up their soul.

The NASU translates Ezekiel 24:25 this way:
'As for you, son of man, will it not be on the day when I take from them their astronghold, the joy of their 1pride, the desire of their eyes and 2their heart's delight, their sons and their daughters” NASU
The footnote to this phrase in the NASU says, “Lit the lifting up of their soul”
In psalm 86:4 we find this use of the phrase:
Bring joy to your servant, for to you, O Lord, I lift up my soul. NIV (also KJV, NASB95, NRSV, NKJV)
The Lexham English Bible translate it as:
Make glad the soul of your servant, because ⌊I desire you⌋, c O Lord. 1
c Literally “I lift up my soul to you”

With these things in mind, we can see that the phrase in reference to God, has to do with:
Worship from a pure heart:
A heart that depends on,
desires of,
and delights in
Him and Him alone!
Psalm 86:10
