The Ways of the Lord are Loving and Faithful

Worship: For Who You Are by Hillsong
Standing here in Your presence
Thinking of the good things You have done
Waiting here patiently
Just to hear Your still small voice I hear

Holy, Righteous, Faithful till the end
Savior, Healer, Redeemer, and Friend

I will worship You for who You are
I will worship You for who You are
I will worship You for who You are
Jesus

My soul's secure, Your promise sure
Your love endures always
My soul's secure, Your promise sure
Your love endures always
My soul's secure, Your promise sure
Your love endures always

I will worship You for who You are
I will worship You for who You are
I will worship You for who You are
Jesus

INTEGRITY'S HOSANNA! MUSIC

Witness:
I continue to see God’s hand in my life, and that He hears my heart cries. He continually sustains me (as the song playing now just said- “You lift my burdens”). I was coming home from picking up dinner for the grandkids and listening to music I have on my phone. I was tired, and I felt my spiritual strength waning even as the music was playing. I cried out to God for strength and asked that I would never grow weary in well doing. Just then, I had to come to a stop because the turn signal light was red. I pulled up behind a truck. On the window in light blue script was the name. The name above all names! Jesus
A bumper sticker on the tailgate said - Jesus is Lord. I felt the burden lifting and I recognized my Father speaking to me again.

WORD:
Ps 25:8-10
 Good and upright is the LORD;
therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
9 He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them his way.
10 All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful
for those who keep the demands of his covenant.

Ps 25:8-10
8 The LORD is good and does what is right;
he shows the proper path to those who go astray.
9 He leads the humble in doing right,
teaching them his way.
10 The Lord leads with unfailing love and faithfulness
all who keep his covenant and obey his demands.

Ps 25:8-10
8 Good and upright is the LORD therefore will he teach sinners in the way.

9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
KJV
Ps 25:8-10

8 Good and upright is the LORD;
therefore he instructs sinners in the way.
9 He leads the humble in what is right,
and teaches the humble his way.
10 All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness,
for those who keep his covenant and his testimonies.

ESV

The third couplet, “loving and faithful ”NIV, is found in verse 10. The first word is the familiar word “hesed,” which I have already discussed in the past. The word has been translated differently in each translation above, showing the depth of meaning in the word. The second word is translated as “faithful” or “faithfulness.” The KJV translates the word as “truth.”

The word here is also found in verse 5, where all translations I am using above have translated it “truth.” While truth may be a good translation, it may not convey the right thought here. It is more than truth, as in a set of doctrines. The word carries the idea of firmness and certainty. Note what reference work says:
OT:571
            firmness, faithfulness, truth
a)        sureness, reliability
b)        stability, continuance
c)         faithfulness, reliableness
d)        truth
            1)  as spoken
            2)  used of testimony and judgment
            3)  used of divine instruction
            4)  truth as a body of ethical or religious knowledge
            5)  true doctrine

This verse then becomes a rock upon which I can stand. The idea of steadfastness and certainty exudes from this passage. God’s steadfast love and faithfulness are an unfailing guide throughout my life (truth), comfort and strength for my soul (stability, continuance), and a fortress and surety for my life (sureness, reliability).
